Maia Kachkachishvili has been most instrumental in tirelessly spreading the wonders of Georgian singing to non-Georgians around the globe. Recently she suffered from a serious health ailment, and with the advent of a privatized health-care system in Georgia, her chances of recovery are greatly dependent on the generosity and help of the people she knows. Thousands of dollars have already been raised by singers of Georgian songs in France, England and the United States but that will barely cover the costs she will incur. In an attempt to help out, singers of Georgian song in Toronto, who have been touched by Maia, have banded together in order to present this concert to you.  They are:

Darbazi
Zari
Machari
Megobrebi
Kundzuli
Akhalkhmebi
RCM World Music Chorus

We hope to see you there for an eclectic mix of Georgian and non-Georgian songs in support of Georgian music and the hopes that Maia will soon resume her role as a facilitator to singers, academics, and enthusiasts alike.
